ILP.. Initial Learning Program, is a well designed program by TCS, in order to get its new recruits to the professional world. Things that are taught include softskills, languages (German, French etc etc - only one of them per batch), leadership qualities, programming languages such as Java, Mainframes, SQLs, several tools etc etc.
Basically the whole newly recruited team is divided into groups and each group is taught different things based on the market criteria of technologies. Thus no new recruit will be aware of the technology that one would be stepping into.
Learning things and making use of the facilities are left to the new recruits as how best he/she looks at it. Since the faculties who teach there are ones who are not strict, the new recruits take things for granted and while away their time.
